The Springville-Mapleton Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that M. Lee Taylor has been selected as our 2018 Citizen of the Year!

Lee’s goal in life is to make people happy through posting local history and photos along with current events that are important. He administers a Facebook site that many residents are aware of called “You know you are from Springville when …, and Lee now has 5,000 followers. If you are unfamiliar with the site, it is about the Springville area today as well as yesterday. It is actively followed and commented on. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Lee graduated in 1964 from SHS and is truly a Red Devil. He was responsible for making his class 50 year reunion anniversary book which contains information about each class member and historical information about Springville. This book has over 400 pages and was truly a labor of love. Lee worked at Pacific States Cast Iron, which many Springville residents did, and at Cache Valley Electric. He retired in 2009. Lee served in the Military and part of his time was spent in the Vietnam War. He has traveled extensively and has visited all 50 states! Lee always says the best part of his travel is when he returns back home to Springville.

Lee has six children and 14 grandchildren. He and his wife Lorraine have been married for 22 years. Lee and Loraine love spending time at their cabin high in the mountains of Sanpete County. He is a Red Devil through and through and loves his Springville heritage. Congratulations, Lee!
