We are excited to announce that we have just renamed and reopened the newly renovated Angelus Theatre in downtown Spanish Fork.
Our recent grand opening and ribbon cutting on September 9 was exactly 105 years to the day of the original opening in 1912. Now, we are excited to get some new events on the calendar!
The Angelus Theatre is a community event center that can accommodate up to 250 guests at a time. We are available for a wide range of public and private events.
Our main goal is to offer to our community a historic and friendly gathering place with a focus on arts and entertainment.

Construction on the Angelus Theatre began in 1911 and the original grand opening was on Sept 9th, 1912. Light Vaudeville theatre and moving pictures were the events of the time and the theatre thrived for many years. In 1948, there was a perilous fire and the building burned to the ground. The Angelus was rebuilt and reopened by 1950 under the same name. The theatre has gone by several names over the decades and was most recently operated as Boothe Bros. Performing Arts Center.
In February of 2016, Curt Gordon, an employee of Boothe Bros. Music purchased the theater from Mike and Steve Boothe and started a rehabilitation project. Gordon had been doing service at the theater since 2000 and fell head over heels for the place early on.
The theater was a large open space with huge potential but it needed a lot of TLC from decades of decay. As the Boothe Bros. neared retirement, Gordon inquired if he could purchase the theater from them and they agreed.
Since the theater was originally named the “Angelus Theatre” when it was opened in 1912, we wanted to restore the original name as well as the early 1900’s theme. Now, after a year and a half of hard work, the renovations have been done to this fashion and the theater looks and feels era-appropriate.
We feel blessed and excited to continue into the 21st century with this wonderful theatre and we invite you to be a part of it.
