The new Business Owners Mad Skills lecture series “#bomsUtah” offers free lectures for business owners along the Wasatch Front. With professionals presenting on their field of expertise, business owners can learn and hone their skills for successfully managing their businesses. The greatest takeaway might be the Q & A opportunity to be right there in the same room to receive answers for individual situations.
On October 11, John C. Brooke will present on “The New Tax Law – What Does it Mean for Business Owners? “ John is the CTO of TaxesMastered.com and President of John C. Brooke, Inc. where empowering clients to achieve their dreams using the safe paths of the tax code is their single intense focus. Brooke is the author of numerous books and continuing education courses for CPAs and business owners. He is also a public speaker on tax strategy and maximizing business and personal performance through proper alignment of goals, choices, and actions. We are honored to have him join us at #bomsUtah!
On November 1, two very entertaining speakers, Spencer Taggart and Guy Richey Gibbons, will present on digital marketing, “Aligning your Brand and Message with the Right Audience”:
Taggart was the marketing manager over the most successful viral campaign of all time; Will It Blend. He was the CEO of a national strategic marketing think tank. Spencer wrote and launched the first accredited Social Media Marketing degree in the country and has worked with many of the largest brands in the world. He is full of intense energy and is passionate about his family, strategy, teaching, God and golf! Taggart is married with four children, has an MBA from Thunderbird, and has started several businesses.
Gibbons has written accredited college course curriculum and worked as Creative Director at many organizations. He has created thousands of pieces of content that have earned over 50 million views worldwide. Guy is passionate about taking a great strategy and bringing it to life through engaging stories. Guy has a deep love for leadership, entrepreneurship, music, people, entertaining and learning. Guy’s greatest passions in life are his faith, family and The Strategic Framework. He is madly in love with his wife and 3 kids (soon to be four).
For the November 15 #bomsUtah lecture, we have the eloquent Genevieve Gribble. Gribble is an attorney at Inter Vivos, PLLC and will speak on business succession, “What If Something Goes Awry with the Business Owner?” She loves estate planning and helping people and businesses get their affairs in order. She also has a specialty in Special Needs. She was raised with a brother with special needs and for the past 6 years has volunteered as a one-to-one aid at school for her nephew who has autism. A native Utahan, Genevieve graduated from BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2006. She loves spending time with her 32 nieces and nephews and enjoys serving her community.
On December 6, we will be pleased to hear from the impressive Glen Wagstaff. Wagstaff is the managing partner of Inter Vivos, PLLC an estate planning law firm headquartered in Lindon, Utah. After starting in March of 2014, the firm became profitable within 4 months and began expanding shortly thereafter. It now has over 50 member-attorneys with licenses and offices in 17 different states. Inter Vivos expects to be a nationwide law firm by 2020. Born and raised in Southern California, Glen graduated top of his class and decided to study at the University of Southern California. After graduating in 2.5 years and serving a mission, Glen married his sweetheart, Kim, and he went on to study at the J. Reuben Clark Law School, BYU, 2013. They have 3 wonderful children.
