r Tai Pan Trading Co., located at University Place in Orem, reopened on Saturday, March 2, after being acquired by new owners, Rick and Melissa Mason. Some remodeling is still underway.
Melissa expressed excitement, anticipating opening again. “I am exhilarated by what’s happened. With my art background, I had in mind for years to work in retail décor. The opportunity came and Rick and I jumped on it. Our goal is to build on what was done here before, expand the offering of high-quality products and treat our customers with the utmost respect.”
Upgrades to the store include a Man Cave, a hideout equipped with couches and a flat-screen TV for men to watch while wives shop.
Also, added is a chocolate and ice cream shop, by Rebecca’s Chocolate. The eatery will feature ice cream and a variety of chocolate morsels.
The store will continue to stock quality items of quality décor for outdoor and indoor areas — for the kitchen, great rooms, bedrooms, and man caves at home.
Tai Pan has will also build a teaching area to hold a variety of classes, such as flower arranging, wreath making, lettering, interior design, etc.
The store will be open 10-7 daily, closed Sundays. Tai Pan is located in the northwest corner of University Place, next to Macy’s.
