r Girl Scout Co-leaderrAs a volunteer, you will help girls explore opportunities, make new friends, become a confident leader, earn badges, and have new experiences that show her how exciting the world is! You will be a part of a leadership team that works together to provide girl-led programming that will impact each girl’s life. We provide training and support to all of our new leaders. Troops generally need a one-year commitment from new volunteers.

Troop 979 meets Friday’s from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 300 E Center Street in Spanish Fork. Contact Marcia Hilton at 801-636-7610. Troop 997 meets Wednesday’s from 3:30 PM-5:00 PM at a residence in Springville. Troop 1324 meets Saturday’s bi-weekly from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church 245 S 200 E in Springville. Community Disaster Education Team MemberrShare your knowledge! Assist the Red Cross in delivering its mission by educating community members, organizations and agencies to prevent and prepare for emergencies. Represent the Red Cross at Preparedness Fairs. Training will be provided. Preparedness Fairs are held in various locations countywide. For more information, contact Karla Gunnell at 801-327-8132 or karla.gunnell@redcross.org.

Community Spring CleanuprMapleton is looking for friends and neighbors willing to work together on several community cleanup projects on April 27 from 9 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Mapleton City Park West Pavillion, 90 East Maple Street. Lunch will be served at noon for volunteers.

Volunteers will help with the following projects: Planting new trees; Painting projects indoor/outdoor; Cleanup on bike/walking trails; Removing debris in park and playground. Clerical VolunteerrTabitha’s Way in Spanish Fork is looking for help answering emails and phone calls related to volunteering opportunities and scheduling volunteers and groups and keeping track of volunteer hours. Utah County Crisis linerVolunteers give of their time and of themselves as they receive calls from and help people through moments of loneliness and crisis. Volunteers will be required to complete training of about four hours before starting and make a commitment of at least 6 months of service. Contact Teri at 702-528-1026 or director@crisislineuc.org

Computer Help Volunteers Needed in SpringvillerWe use computers to shop, bank, pay bills, keep in touch, find jobs, and watch our favorite shows. In this day and age computers and access to the internet are essential to functioning in society. You can help low-income, elderly, and other community members gain confidence and skills to access and use computers by volunteering in our open access computer lab!

The computer lab runs every Monday from 1-3 PM at the Springville Library.rYou’ll draw on your expertise to help library patrons: search the internet, set up social media accounts, look for jobs online, send emails, use Microsoft Office, avoid computer viruses, and much more.

This is a fulfilling opportunity for individuals who like working with older adults or are tech-savvy individuals who would like to give back to the community. We adore our talented volunteers. Join our team! Contact Claire Warnick at 801-691-5371 or clairew@unitedwayuc.org.
