Join Billy Rhatigan and Art City Auto Body as they ride one of the largest, most impressive vehicles you’ll see in the Springville Art City Days parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the 8th of June.

Appearing for the first time at Burning Man in the deserts of Nevada, this forty-five foot monstrosity, nicknamed “The Fish,” is the artistic brainchild of a Park City friend of Rhatigan’s named Zafod.

r

r

This is the first time this vehicle will appear in a parade anywhere outside of Park City. The one-of-a-kind spectacle will be driven by Billy and his son and can seat about forty people.

r

“The Fish” seems to go hand-in-hand with how Rhatigan approaches his business and life. Always one to think outside of the box and to add an artistic hand to his auto body work, the shop—and Rhatigan himself—have gained almost a cult following and a larger-than-life reputation.

r

r

Rhatigan was first introduced to Utah when he was younger because of the snow. “I was a ski bum and had been coming to Utah for ten years before I decided to make Utah my permanent home.”

r

r

Twenty-two years ago, Rhatigan moved from New York to Springville to start a new life. He knew no one here, but decided to buy a small auto body shop. Almost immediately, he became immersed in Art City and all it had to offer.

r

r

Art City Auto Body is a homegrown shop specializing in collision repair, auto body work, and auto sales.

Do not miss tomorrow’s event. Immediately after the parade, which starts at 10 a.m., head over to the car show located at 587 S. Main Street. The car show is free admission and will go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature groovy and dangerous vehicles, handmade trophies, and rock and roll.
