Linda Paaso Brighton passed away in her sleep at age 79 on May 5, 2022 in her home. She suffered from the cognitive decline of Alzheimer’s disease. She was born twelve minutes after her twin sister Susan to Sulo and Margaret Paaso on July 3, 1942 in Fort Lewis Washington where her father served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.
Linda grew up in Ventura California where she graduated from high school. She continued her education at Brigham Young University where she earned a B. A. in History. On June 3, 1966 Linda was sealed to Thomas B. Brighton in the Los Angeles. She worked as a dental assistant while Tom finished graduate school.
Linda raised five children: Heather Bawden, Tom Brighton, Scott Brighton, Jeff Brighton, and David Brighton. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a Primary President, Relief Society President, and Seminary Teacher. Tom and Linda served missions in Dublin Ireland, Beijing China, and Oakland California. She also served as the Matron of the Palmyra, New York Temple. Linda loved the outdoors and was passionate about birding.
A memorial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday May 10, 2022 at the Woodland Hills Chapel located at 220 S. Woodland Hills Dr. Woodland Hills, UT. Livestreaming of the service will be available on Legacy Funerals & Cremations Facebook page at 9:45 am. Interment will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
