On May 20, Community Action Services and Food Bank pulled out all the stops to celebrate its 56th birthday. Supporters and community members came together to enjoy food, games, and good times in recognition of the organization’s service through the decades.
Community Action Services and Food Bank has been able to provide exceptional service thanks to help from dedicated staff and selfless volunteers. This year, we decided to celebrate Community Action’s birthday with a party for these volunteers, our guests, and community members. The birthday party was an incredible success, with more than 300 people attending and enjoying activities of every kind.
Partygoers had fun playing bingo, planting flowers, and fishing. Kids had a great time with face painting, bounce houses and reptiles from Thanksgiving Point. Everybody stayed well fed with hot dogs, chips, drinks, cotton candy, popcorn, and delicious Crumbl Cookies. We even raffled off seven new bikes, including a $1,500 trike from Utah Trikes.
The Community Action Services and Food Bank birthday party was a true community event involving patrons, businesses, and services from around Utah County. Our friends in the community were able to find out about help they can receive from Community Action Services and Food Bank, as well as other organizations in the area.
Utah Women, Infants and Children, the Utah County Health Department, and more provided activities and information about their services, and The Wellness Bus provided free screenings.
We were honored to have attendees from the community spend time with us at our birthday celebration. It was a joy to watch them interact with our caring staff who are eager to give everyone special attention and help them succeed. We loved watching the faces of attendees playing fun games, winning amazing prizes, and celebrating with us.
We are grateful to businesses in the community that made the party possible with donations, including the following: Crumbl Cookie; Namify; Prodigy; Provo Bicycle Collective; Utah Trikes; Miss Utah County; WIC; Thanksgiving Point; Utah County Health Department; Alpine Event Rentals; Help Rescue Food.
We are especially grateful to our tireless staff members who took shifts setting up, running, and cleaning up after the event. This event would not have been possible without everyone’s involvement.
Community Action Services and Food Bank has helped people in Utah since 1967. Our mission is to help lift people out of poverty by meeting their basic critical needs and providing them with long-term solutions. Proceeds from this year’s birthday party will go directly to feeding people in our community. To help with Community Action’s mission, donate, volunteer, or consider donating to our Amazon wishlist.
