Don Zobell

HELPER-Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and dear friend, Donald Dee Zobell, age 75, passed away August 6, 2023 at his home.

He was born May 8, 1948 in Payson, Utah to Ben and Fern Knutson Zobell.  Don married Brenda Joyce Shay on November 12, 1999 in Spanish Fork, Utah and shortly thereafter they made their home in Helper where they have resided for the past 18 years.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Brenda Zobell, Helper; his beloved children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends who meant the world to him.

Don was a longtime resident of Utah County where he attended local schools and after high school he began working for W.W. Clyde.  In 2012, Don retired from W.W. Clyde as a carpenter superintendent where he worked extensively on various road and bridge projects throughout Utah.  Don was an accomplished wood worker who spent countless hours working in his shop.  Don could build anything and he especially enjoyed making wood toys for his family.  If one could imagine it, Don could build it.

Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, and 4-wheeling in the great outdoors.  He loved a good laugh and was always ready to share a joke.  Don was a grandpa to everyone and will sorely missed by them, his working buddies, and a community of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, two brothers, and two sisters.

A celebration of life will be held in Helper at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Don online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
