The Spanish Fork Arts Council has a new visual arts show called Mini Masterpieces, and it is inviting everyone to see what the event is all about.
Mini Masterpieces is a community art show for all ages funded by the Recreation, Arts, and Parks Program (RAP grant), in collaboration with the Spanish Fork Chamber of Commerce. This community art show has many unique pieces, but one thing that sets the show apart from many others, is that all of the art is miniature.
Local artists, ranging in age from 5 to 91 years old, recently picked up kits to create mini works of art measuring just two inches by 2 ½ inches. Each of the kits centered on the theme of “Transportation.”
These mini works of art will be displayed at six local businesses for two weeks, with a kick off celebration happening March 4, from 5 -7 p.m. The public is invited to attend and view the art at each business that night and participate in a free and fun “mini” activity at each location. There will be mini games, mini treats, and even mini face painting. Patrons who make it to all six locations that night will earn a prize.
The art pieces will then be on display for two weeks from March 5 -15. During this time, the public is invited to stop in during business hours to see the art displays and vote for their favorite pieces. Winners will be chosen by popular vote at each location. At the end of the two weeks, winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded by the hosting business.
Put this fun new event on your calendar and plan to come support local artists. The businesses where art can be viewed are at the following Spanish Fork locations:
PostNet-826 Expressway Lane, Lance Wilson State Farm, The Mint Facial Bar & Med Spa, Rasmussen Jewelers, Zions Bank, and Poppy Books & Gifts.
