Merit Academy Continues Its Mission to Support Education in Kenya

Since 2011, Merit Academy in Springville has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students halfway across the globe. Partnering with the nonprofit organization Kenya Keys, Merit Academy took its first step by assisting Mtulu Primary School, an elementary school in Kenya, Africa. Their initial project involved the construction of a much-needed latrine, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey in humanitarian aid and educational support.

Over the years, Merit Academy expanded its reach, adopting additional schools in Kenya and addressing various educational needs. Whether through its fundraising initiatives, building classrooms, providing essential supplies like books, desks, and tackling issues like famine, Merit Academy has been relentless in its pursuit of ensuring quality education for all.

In 2022, amidst a famine crisis in Kenya, Merit Academy rallied its efforts and set an ambitious goal of raising $10,000 to alleviate hunger among students. With sheer determination and community support, they not only met but exceeded their target, providing vital sustenance to countless hungry children.

As the calendar flips to 2024, Merit Academy confronts a new challenge. Many high school students in Kenya lack even the most basic school necessities such as soap, antibiotics, underwear, shoes, uniforms, and regular meals. These essentials are not just luxuries but prerequisites for their attendance at school. Recognizing this urgent need, Merit Academy has set its sights higher than ever before, aiming to raise $15,000 to support these students in their educational journey.

The call to action is clear: it’s time to lend a helping hand. For those who wish to make a direct impact, cash donations are also welcome and can be made through the meritprepacademy.org website. Sharing this fundraiser on social media platforms amplifies its reach and impact, spreading awareness and garnering support from a broader audience.

In a world where access to education is often taken for granted, Merit Academy’s unwavering commitment to uplifting underserved communities in Kenya serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration. The academy’s efforts transcend borders and remind us of the transformative power of education.

As we unite to support Merit Academy in its mission, let us remember that every contribution, no matter how small, has the potential to change lives and shape futures. Together, we can empower the next generation of leaders in Kenya and beyond. Join Merit Academy in making a difference, one student at a time.”
