Serve Daily will be adding cartoons to its monthly publication, and would like to introduce you to Springville cartoonist Jason Randall.

Randall grew up in the small town of Buena Vista Colorado, art was his escape. According to Randall, art was one of the few tasks he could work on for hours without becoming bored or tired. After having never fully intending to live in Utah, he spent a summer in Provo with some family and found himself charmed by the cozy community.

During his visit, Randall found that he wanted a change from the career he was currently in, and interviewed for a position on a whim. He was offered the job and found himself moving to Utah. The rest, as they say, is history. Now, over a decade later, he has settled in Springville with a family of his own and is pursuing art once again.

Randall is the third of six children with one sister and four brothers. While growing up, his dad, whom he describes as a ‘typical cowboy,’ was a police officer while his mother stayed at home and managed their busy household. He says that growing up, his town was small and cozy with a close knit community, and says that things have changed a lot with many more people interested in holistic lifestyles settling there. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and credits his faith as a major part of his life growing up. It was also part of his decision to move to Utah.

Randall is now married to a local school teacher and has two children. Some of his hobbies include Formula 1 and Indy car racing. He also enjoys assembling model cars, and says that “Being behind the wheel of a car, no matter where I’m going, is one of my favorite things in life.” He loves animation and would love to join that industry one day. One of his favorite family traditions is annual family trips to Disneyland. He also enjoys warm weather and palm trees.

He has created the cartoon strip, The Random Raccoons, where he takes readers on wacky, family friendly adventures with a cute cast of furry creatures. He said his goal is to  give his readers a moment to laugh and smile, as well as a tiny escape from the tedious everyday chaos of life through his art with humor and wit. He hopes to create something that people look forward to and can enjoy with their families and loved ones.

Randall says that “The single most important thing is to follow your dreams. Just keep going. Don’t let fear hold you back. Just do it and see what happens.”

We look forward to having such a talented artist join the Serve Daily family! To see more of Jason’s work please check out his social media accounts.
