Edward Frank Helmick, 80, of Provo, Utah, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024.  He is survived by his beloved wife Janice Christensen Helmick, loving daughters Mynell Harper (Brian Harper) and Jennifer Helmick (Eric Lutz), two grandchildren Eleanor Harper and Coraline Harper, and Janice’s six children who are grateful for how loving and kind he was to their mother having shared many happy, adventuresome years together.

Born May 30, 1944, adopted by Gertrude Parker Helmick and Nathan Frank Helmick, of Grand Junction, Colorado, Ed was an avid photographer and a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, one of the original members of the Grand Mesa Jeep Club and several other Jeep clubs from Alaska to Hawaii, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah (Lone Peak 4 Wheelers).  A graduate of Loma Linda University with a Masters in Public Health, Ed worked for many years with the Indian Health Service advocating for better healthcare services for Native American communities.  Ed was also a passionate aviator and aviation educator working in aviation departments of several colleges and universities and co-founder of flight schools Flight Dimensions, Scottsdale, AZ and Diamond Flight Center Spanish Fork, UT.
Ed lived life to its fullest, forever touching all those who knew him.  Services to be held by the Seventh Day Adventist and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Further information can be found on the Kramer Funeral Home site where the family also welcomes you to share your memories, thoughts and prayers.
