September 29, 1945 – May 11, 2023

Craig L. (Madsen) Shaw returned home Thursday, May 11, 2023 just 2 months before his 50th wedding anniversary with his beautiful wife, Peggy.

Craig was born September 28, 1945 in Provo Utah, to Richard Alger Madsen and Shirlee LaRae Gaudio. Craig married his sweetheart, Peggy Ann Peterson, July 13, 1973, in Provo UT, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. They lived in Payson, UT and later moved to Mapleton, UT where they have lived for 35 years.

Craig was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Craig and Peggy were blessed with 4 beautiful children, Charles, Jennifer, Kimberlee and Shane. Craig and Peggy owned a business for 10 years, C&P Quarter Horses, which they bred and sold champion quarter horses. Later they started up their own water conditioner business, High Country Water and have owned it for 40 years.

Craig was a jack of all trades as everyone would say, it did not matter what it was, he could do it, and if he did not know how, he was going to figure it out. Craig had the kindest and strongest heart. He was the first person to lend a helping hand, if you had a question on how to do something, he always knew how. He was the hardest worker and could outwork anyone. He was the biggest jokester, he never failed to put a smile on someone’s face and as his wife would say “Craig never met a stranger.” He wanted to be friends with everyone and loved to make people laugh.

His children and grandchildren were his world, and he was theirs. Spending time with his family was the most important thing to him, he was the dad that made sure you always had the oil changed in your car, held your hand through the hard times and taught you everything you needed to know in this life. He was the grandpa that did not miss out on school programs, ball games, dance recitals or an opportunity to support his grandkids. His presence on this earth will be greatly missed by so many, but we can’t imagine the reunion with his Grandparents and parents. We love you.

He is Survived by his wife, children and spouses, Peggy Shaw, Wife, Charles Shaw (Billie), Jennifer Keisel (Shane), Shane Shaw, Kimberlee Blackett (Bradley), 14 Grandchildren, Brittany Shaw, Mckelle Shaw, Aubrey Ballstaedt (Izzy), Hayden Shaw, Kaitlyn Shaw, Spencer Shaw, Whitney Shaw, Dillan Shaw, Hunter Shaw, Autumn Shephard (Dillan,) Jesse Shaw, Kaleb Blackett, Alexis Blackett, Chance Blackett, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Alger Madsen, his Father and Shirlee LaRae Gaudio, his Mother.
