The 2026 Utah County Fair Demolition Derby cemented its place as one of the nation’s top demolition derby events, attracting more than 16,000 spectators over two days and bringing together more than 150 competitors from across the United States.

Held at the Utah County Fairgrounds in Spanish Fork, the event featured two days of high energy competition, with drivers traveling from as far away as New York and California to compete. The impressive turnout from both fans and competitors highlighted the growing national reputation of the Utah County Fair Demolition Derby.

This year also marked a significant milestone for the local demolition derby community. In each of the past five years, only two to five drivers from Utah County competed in the event. In 2026, that number nearly tripled, making it the largest local competitor turnout in recent history. Among those competitors were nine participants from Wrecked Neck Racing Garage, a Utah County-based demolition derby team and social media content creator group.

The Wrecked Neck Racing team included four youth competitors, four powder puff drivers, and one full size class competitor, highlighting the organization’s commitment to developing the next generation of derby drivers while growing local participation in the sport.

This year marked a new era for the event as Full Contact Racing took over promotional duties. Originally founded in California, Full Contact Racing has become one of the demolition derby industry’s leading promotional companies, producing more than 20 events each season and drawing top competitors from across the country.

In addition to producing an action packed show, Full Contact Racing invested heavily in the competitor experience. More than $200,000 was awarded in payouts, with an additional $50,000 in driver prizes distributed throughout the weekend. Drivers were also provided lunch and dinner both days, received swag bags, and enjoyed an event that many competitors said went above and beyond what is typically offered at demolition derbies.

“Full Contact Racing would like to give a huge shout out to the more than 150 competitors that made the 2026 UTC Derby one of the best in the country this year,” said Full Contact Racing owner Eric Brown. “We were blown away by the support and can’t wait to see how much bigger the 2027 UTC Derby will be.”

The excitement continued long after the final checkered flag. Across local community pages and social media, attendees shared photos, videos, and positive reactions from the weekend. Many praised the nonstop action, competitive fields, and smooth execution of the event, with fans describing it as one of the best Utah County Fair derbies in recent memory.

Fans who missed the action or want to relive every hit can purchase the official replay through Throwdown TV, one of the demolition derby world’s most respected pay per view broadcasters, and experience one of the biggest derby weekends of the year.

Serve Daily is a great local newspaper full of uplifting stories. We've advertised the Elk Ridge City Celebration in SD the last two years. Chris is a pleasure to work with and his rates are reasonable.
