Spanish Fork Airport Breaks Ground

On Wednesday, February 28, construction commenced on the first phase of a $100 million hangar development project at Spanish Fork Airport. This development, which will be executed in two phases, is expected to elevate the airport’s status and cater to the needs of private aviation enthusiasts. The initial phase, with a budget of $60 million, is part of the broader $100 million project.

The Patey Aviation business group, spearheading the project, envisions the park not only as a premier destination for private pilots but also as a community asset. The development aims to transform a significant portion of the airport into a multifunctional space for recreation and aviation observation. Plans include facilities for children, observation points for aircraft, and a public restaurant, fostering a community-centric approach to airport development.

The state-of-the-art aviation hub will comprise 66 hangars varying in size and price to accommodate different aircraft and pilot needs. Ranging from 2,200 square feet to 21,000 square feet, these hangars will offer ample space and flexibility.

The strategic location of Spanish Fork for such a project is attributed to foresighted planning that reserved areas for future development. Unlike many airports built without long-term vision, Spanish Fork’s layout allows for the creation of new amenities without the need for extensive demolition or reconstruction.

Spanish Fork City officials express enthusiasm for the project, anticipating significant economic and community benefits. The development is expected to attract businesses and job opportunities to the area, contributing to local economic growth.

In addition to serving the aviation community, the project aims to benefit the wider population by bringing economic opportunities and enhancing community amenities. The infusion of funds from various sources post project completion, including pilots and aviation enthusiasts from across the country, is expected to have a positive financial impact on Spanish Fork and its residents.

Serve Daily is a great local newspaper full of uplifting stories. We've advertised the Elk Ridge City Celebration in SD the last two years. Chris is a pleasure to work with and his rates are reasonable.
