In a heartfelt celebration of inspiration, perseverance, and community spirit, Angel Studios has partnered with the newly acquired Stadium Cinema in Payson—now part of Wayfarer Theaters—to host a special screening of The Senior, an uplifting new film starring Emmy Award-winner Michael Chiklis.
The screening, taking place on Thursday, September 18th, at 8 PM, is scheduled to include a unique local twist, welcoming the Payson and Salem Hills high school football teams for an unforgettable evening of entertainment and empowerment. Attendees will also enjoy a live Q&A session with Mike Flynt—the real-life subject of the story and author of the book that inspired the film.
The Senior tells the extraordinary true story of Mike Flynt, who—35 years after being kicked off his college football team—returns to the field for his final year of eligibility. The film is a testament to second chances and the enduring spirit of chasing one’s dreams, no matter the age.
Wayfarer Theaters, a sister company of Wayfarer Studios, officially acquired Stadium Cinemas earlier this month. Headquartered in Highland Park, Illinois, the theater chain is on a mission to showcase films that unite, inspire, and uplift. Their focus on positive, community-centered stories made the collaboration with Angel Studios a natural fit.
