Salem City Recreation has announced these upcoming events:
Salem Catchers Camp: Saturday, Feb. 11. Casey Cloward is a former Brigham Young University catcher and is excited to spend time working with your catcher, giving them drills and pointers to take back to practice as they work to become better. This year we will be breaking down into two age groups: 8- to 11-year-olds (8 to 9:30 a.m.) and 12-to 18-year-olds (10 to -11:30 a.m.). Space is limited. Registration is $15; no non-resident fee on camps.
Pitching Clinic: Chase Castleberry will instruct this camp focusing on pitching mechanics, accuracy training, throwing programs and drill improvement. Camp will be held on Saturday, March 4, at the Loafer Complex. Ages 10 to 13 will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and ages 14 to 18 will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Cost for the camp is $15; no non-resident fee on camps.
Spring Soccer: Early registration ends March 16. All players will need a game jersey. (Jerseys may be reused season to season and are available to purchase for $12 at the Recreation Office.) Pre-kindergarten and seventh- to ninth-grade boys: Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Kindergarten to sixth grade: Wednesday and Friday evenings. Seventh- to ninth-grade girls: Wednesdays and Saturdays.rPlease keep in mind that early registration for baseball/softball third through eighth grade ends March 23rd. Youth Track Club will begin on April 11. The meet schedule is still pending; it will posted as soon as it becomes available. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Salem Hills High School. Registration fee: $40. Early registration ends April 11. A $5 late fee and $5 non-resident fee apply.
