For more than three decades, the Springville Kiwanis Club has brought the community together to brighten the holidays for local families through its annual food drive and Sub-for-Santa project. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the old Springville Gym, located behind the Springville Museum of Art at 4th South and 100 East.
This cherished community tradition depends on the generosity of Springville residents, churches, schools, and local businesses who come together to serve those in need. In previous years, the drive collected over 45,000 pounds of food, distributed more than 500 food boxes, and provided $12,400 in gift cards, $1,800 in youth sports vouchers, and hundreds of Christmas stockings to children.
That remarkable effort was made possible by over 280 volunteers, including Kiwanis members, Springville High School Key Club students, local church groups, the high school basketball team, and individuals who signed up through JustServe. Volunteers received and sorted thousands of donated food bags—distributed earlier by local churches with the help of Reams, Copies Plus, and the Springville High Key Club—and packed them into boxes generously donated by the Spanish Fork Deseret Meat Welfare Processing Facility.
Each food box delivered to local families contained not only essential food items but also a $40 gift card, a coupon for a free book donated by the Friends of the Springville Library, and youth sports vouchers made possible through Springville Recreation and the Kiwanis Club.
This year’s event will once again rely on volunteers to receive, sort, and fill food boxes that will be distributed to families throughout Springville. Anyone interested in helping can join the effort on December 13 or sign up through JustServe.org.
Together, Springville can make this another year of kindness, service, and community connection—one box, one meal, and one family at a time.
