When I found out that my good friend, Julie Green was retiring, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to let everyone know what a huge vacancy that would be leaving at Spanish Fork Junior High School and Nebo School District as a whole.
I first met Julie when she assisted me in the classroom when I was a resource teacher at Spanish Fork Junior High School. It didn’t take long for me to realize what a prize she was. Julie’s vivacious personality rang out through the entire school. The students loved her and we all appreciated the extra mile she always went with my students, and the entire student body.
“Where’s Julie?” I would sometimes hear from a student who might have gotten himself/herself into a corner at school and needed help. Every student needs to have a “Julie” in their corner. She was always a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear.
Julie was always good for a laugh. I’d often see her in the hallway, teaching “line dancing” in the PE classes. I will miss the pictures she never failed to send me of her and her buddies dressed up for Halloween.
I don’t like speaking of Julie in past tense because she is still around in that red “tricked out” jeep.
When I get to Spanish Fork, I hope to still see Julie in her red jeep flying down Main Street with her blond hair flying in the breeze.
