The State of Utah is requiring all counties in the state to develop a Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the public lands within their borders. Interested groups and citizens are invited to take an on-line survey to provide input into the county’s Resource Management Plan or to visit the booth at the Utah County Fair this week. The goal is for counties to have specific planning objectives that will allow local government to have a strong voice in resource planning processes for public lands such as those managed by federal and state agencies. In Utah County the percentage of public lands within the county is 58 percent.

Utah County will be hosting a public open house on Tuesday, August 23 at the Old Historic County Courthouse, in the ballroom on the third floor, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to learn about the resources addressed by the county RMP and to provide comments.
