I am more skeptical than most when it comes to choosing a nail technician. I’m admittedly picky about how I want my nails to look and feel, and I have certainly been the victim of a bad manicure or two. So when I saw a recommendation for an affordable but high-quality home salon, I was cautious but curious.
Petals and Pollen in Santaquin came highly recommended, and when I went to the company’s Instagram page and easily set up an appointment, I was pleasantly surprised. The site was easy to navigate and I was able to quickly set up an appointment for a manicure. The salon owner then sent very easy to follow instructions that ensured a smooth appointment that included instructions on how to submit my inspiration pictures to ensure I was able to get the kind of manicure I was after. I was very impressed with the variety and quality of the nail art Petals and Pollen had to offer. From the classic French tip, to complex nail art, to chrome, gold leaf, and glitter, the possibilities were endless.
Emily Duncan, whose talents also extend into hair coloring and styling, was my nail technician. I sent her a few pictures of what I wanted, which was silver chrome french tips (a modern twist on the classic). She assured me that she could give me the look I wanted.
When I arrived at the in-home salon in Santaquin, she greeted me warmly at the door. After making sure I was comfortable in her chair, she went over my goals for my nails and then explained the different options she offered (gel, gelx, and acrylic) and educated me on each option. I was impressed with her knowledge and care for me as a client.
Emily was very professional while doing my nails and very personable chatting with me about a variety of topics. She showed care and concern for me, making sure that I was comfortable. I really felt like I was more than just a customer
When my appointment was over, Emily offered my helpful post-appointment tips to help my nails look good and last as long as I wanted them too. She also made sure I was able to schedule my follow up appointment easily.
Petals and Pollen is a small salon in Stanquin Utah owned and operated by Emily Duncan. She is a skilled nail technician and excellent hair colorist. The salon is cozy but comfortable.
