What does nearly every feel-good holiday movie have in common? A small business owner, of course! There’s something magical about following your dreams and being part of a community. If you think back to some of your most cherished holiday memories, they probably revolve around a community event, meeting up with loved ones at a favorite restaurant, marveling at the businesses decorated in holiday lights, and shopping at your favorite store where you can always find that perfect something. Oftentimes, those memories were made possible by small businesses, and that’s what’s behind the Small Business Season!
We at the Payson Santaquin Area Chamber of Commerce, invite you to shop locally this season as much as possible and join us at two family favorite traditions.
Payson Small Business Saturday will take place on November 30 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The newly renovated Main St. will be open for business with our downtown shops and over 25 other businesses displaying products at the event. There will also be Santa, food trucks, and great family fun.
Also, part of the event, there will be a Santa Dash at Peteetneet Museum beginning at 5 p.m., and all runners encouraged to participate. Following the race, Hot chocolate and carols will be sung before lighting the Peteetneet lights at 5:50, and then we’ll head to Main Street and light up our newly renovated downtown with Christmas lights and activities.
“Santa”quin’s Holly Days will add to the season’s festivities on December 6 and 7. During this event, there will be a hand bell concert on Friday and a Christmas boutique Saturday starting at 10 a.m. in the City Hall multipurpose room. Santa, Elsa, the Grinch and more will create great memories, as will the food trucks, horse carriage, Polar Express rides, and free marshmallow roasting. A tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. and a new drone show will take off at 8 p.m..
