Teacher of the Month: Stephanie Truscott

One very special teacher at Cherry Creek Elementary is our very own fourth grade teacher, Stephanie Truscott. She embodies the grace of one who is wise and anchored in her love and service to others. Daily, Ms. Truscott serves our staff and students. From building relationships with staff and students, to executing purposeful management within the classroom, her efforts result in a safe space for all to learn and grow.  

It is not uncommon for students in her class from years ago to visit and check in with her.  Recently, a student who is now a grown man, stopped by to let Mrs. Truscott know she was his favorite teacher and appreciated her impact on his life. 

Ms. Truscott has a way of connecting with her students that motivates them to grow. Her example of service models what it means to be an active community member and how to take care of others. By meeting others’ needs, she frees people up to then be able to reach out and touch another. Her efforts are the genesis of a beautiful chain of events that include service and love to others in our community. 

She also serves as Team Leader for her grade level. This duty highlights her quiet but steady attention to the demands of a busy, ever-changing school. When yet another twist or turn appears, it’s Ms. Truscott, who sits with a smile. She quickly adapts by putting her ideas, organization, and a great attitude into action. She creates pathways to meet the need and then shares her work so that others can follow. She can do this all in record time!

She has a gift of balancing high expectations with high support and security for her students, team, and other staff. She brings calm to any storm. Steadiness like that blesses everyone lucky enough to work with her. 

At the entrance to her classroom, Ms. Truscott displays the quote, “Believe you can, and you are halfway there.” Her ever-present calm and positive demeanor inspires us to believe we can and to serve daily. What a tremendous gift she is to Cherry Creek and our community!
