William M. Boardman, a member of Toastmasters International since January 2014, earned first place in the District 15 Division C International Speech Contest held April 18 in Draper.

His speech, ā€œHelp,ā€ which focused on raising awareness and encouraging meaningful assistance to others earned him the top spot as well as an advancement  to the District 15 International Speech Competition on May 16 in South Jordan.

Boardman’s achievement follows a series of wins earlier this year, demonstrating consistent excellence in public speaking, critical thinking, and audience engagement.

Boardman’s speech, ā€œHelp,ā€ stood out among competitors for its clarity, emotional resonance, and strong call to action. Judges evaluated participants on content, delivery, and overall impact, with Boardman’s performance earning top marks across categories.

The Toastmasters International Speech Contest is widely regarded as one of the largest and most prestigious public speaking competitions in the world. Each year, more than 30,000 participants from over 100 countries compete, advancing through multiple levels for an opportunity to earn the title of World Champion of Public Speaking.

Since its founding in 1924, Toastmasters International has helped nearly eight million individuals develop communication and leadership skills through its global network of clubs.

Participation in the annual speech contests challenge speakers to refine their message, strengthen delivery, and connect with diverse audiences. For Boardman, the journey reflects years of dedication to personal and professional growth and a commitment to sharing ideas that inspire others.
