Whitney Safford is a dedicated and inspiring educator at Art City Elementary, where she teaches third grade. Now in her fourth year of teaching, Whitney has quickly established herself as a trusted teacher, leader, and advocate for students. In addition to her work in the classroom, Whitney plays an important leadership role at Art City Elementary. She serves as the third-grade team leader, where she brings positivity, collaboration, and strong communication to her team. Whitney helps foster a supportive and productive team culture, encouraging collaboration and shared responsibility. Her leadership has contributed to a strong sense of unity and purpose within the third-grade team.
Fellow teacher Natalie Christensen described Whitney as “one of the hardest working people” she knows, adding that she spends “countless hours” to make sure her students get the best education.
“She also finds so many ways to make learning fun and help the students be engaged,” Christensen said. “Whitney demonstrates perseverance and continues to amaze me every day. If something goes wrong, she just keeps going. She is trustworthy, kind and an incredible person to work with. She cares deeply about all of her students and makes sure all of their needs are met. She has created a culture of acceptance and respect in her classroom and you can tell that her students love her. I am so lucky to get to collaborate with her and see her excellence every day!”
