The Springville Kiwanis Club is excited to announce the return of its much-anticipated Annual Food Drive/Sub-4-Santa Project, an event that has become a beloved tradition and a beacon of community spirit.
Kicking off in December, local churches will distribute thousands of plastic food bags, generously donated by Reams Springville Market, to homes throughout the area. These bags, labeled with labels donated by Copies Plus, will be delivered by members of the Springville High School Key Club, dedicated Kiwanis members, and our incredible volunteers. The hands and hearts behind each bag symbolize the unity and care that define our community.
How You Can Be a Part of This Inspiring Event
There are numerous ways for everyone to get involved in this compassionate cause:
1. Be on the lookout: In December, keep an eye out for the plastic food bags delivered to your home.
2. Fill the bags: Generously fill these bags with non-perishable food items.
3. Bag collection: Participate by collecting the filled bags for distribution.
4. Volunteer at the Drive: Join us on Saturday, December 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the old Springville High School gym (located behind the Museum at 126 E. 400 S., Springville) to assist during the food drive event.
Last year, over 280 committed volunteers helped the Kiwanis Club organize and pack more than 500 food boxes, using empty boxes donated by the Spanish Fork Deseret Meat Welfare Processing Facility. These boxes were distributed to families in need and to Landmark High School, with any remaining food donated to the Springville Kiwanis Food Pantry at the old Grant School.
As we continue to grow as a community, so does the need for support. For over 30 years, the Springville Kiwanis Club has depended on the generosity and involvement of our residents to make a substantial difference in the lives of those in need.
To ensure the continued success of this vital project, we need your helping hands! Your participation, no matter how big or small, is crucial in making this year’s food drive the most impactful one yet. Together, we can light up the holiday season for many families.
