The Springville Kiwanis Club is excited to announce the upcoming Annual Food Drive/Sub-4-Santa Project, which is a cherished tradition that embodies the enduring spirit of our community.
Starting in December, local churches will distribute thousands of plastic food bags, generously donated by Reams Springville Market, to homes throughout the area. Each plastic bag will be labeled with labels from Copies Plus and placed by Springville High School Key Club members, students, Kiwanis members. These organizations, along with our dedicated volunteers, are the heart and soul of this initiative by bringing our community together in the service of those in need.
For those interested in being involved, here are a few ways to get involved:
Keep an eye out for the bags in December.
Fill them with non-perishable items.
Collect the filled bags.
Assist during the food drive event on Saturday, December 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the old Springville High School gym behind the Museum at 126 E. 400 S., Springville.
Last year, over 280 volunteers helped the Kiwanis Club organize and fill more than 500 food boxes using empty boxes donated by the Spanish Fork Deseret Meat Welfare Processing Facility. These boxes were then distributed to families in need and Landmark High School, with any remaining food donated to the Springville Kiwanis Food Pantry at the old Grant School. As our community continues to grow, so does the need for assistance.
For over 30 years, the Kiwanis Club has relied on the support and generosity of Springville residents to aid those in need. To ensure the success of this important project, we need many helping hands! Your participation is crucial. Together, we can make a significant difference! Sign up to volunteer at JustServe.org.
