r Allen’s Super Save Markets of Provo and Springville, Utah will close its doors for the last time on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.

Allen’s was started by Orlando Smith Allen and his wife Ellen in 1944 with a small store in central Provo. Mr. Steve Allen, Orlando and Ellen’s son, operated the business after his parents’ passing.

The Allen Family had hoped to continue to improve their stores through upgrades and open their new bakeries, named Ellen’s Bakery in honor of Steve’s Mother, but unfortunately, due to health concerns, this was not a possibility. As a result, Mr. Allen has decided to close his family’s business.

“It was a pleasure to serve the people of Utah County for many years. We greatly appreciate the support of our loyal customers. We thank our team for their years of service. Our team is filled with kind, honest, and hardworking people. We hope that people will continue to shop locally with other retailers. Small, locally owned businesses need the community’s support,” Allen said.
