Springville Historical Society Lecture for January

r By Helen BeardallrThe Springville Historical Society lecture for January will be presented by Daryl Tucker on January 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Springville Museum of Art. The subject of the presentation will be “Springville’s Historic Main Street.” With the rapid changes happening in Springville’s residential neighborhoods and outlying business districts, one constant seems to be the stately old businesses on Main Street. Looking back on Springville’s history, however, reveals some interesting changes that have taken place over the years. Mr. Tucker will highlight some of the businesses that once thrived along the main artery through the city, including many of the interesting people who populated Springville’s “downtown.”
The evening promises to be both nostalgic and entertaining. Long-time residents will be able to reminisce about memories they have of buildings and business that have disappeared from the landscape and newer residents will be able to learn some facets of the community’s history that may enhance their appreciation of the character of our city.
