Springville Art City Days: Join Us at the Kiwanis Scone Booth!

Springville Kiwanis Scone Booth

As the weather begins to warm, the excitement for Springville’s annual Art City festivities is palpable. One of the highlights of the celebration is the Kiwanis Scone Booth, which will take place from June 11-14. This beloved fundraiser, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Springville, relies on the generosity and hard work of volunteers to prepare and serve delicious scones.

Every summer, the Kiwanis Scone Booth becomes a hub of activity, bringing together friends, family, businesses, and community groups to contribute to a noble cause. The funds raised from this event primarily support the Kiwanis’ Sub-for-Santa project, helping to create joyful holiday experiences for children and families in need. Additionally, the proceeds will assist other meaningful service projects throughout the year.

Last year alone, our amazing volunteers helped produce and sell over 6,000 scones. Funds from sales allowed the club to purchase gift cards and food donations to provide over 500 food boxes for local families. We were also able to offer sports enrollment vouchers for children through the Springville Department of Parks and Recreation. Contributions to the Art City Children’s Art Festival, alongside scholarships for Springville High School Key Club members were made, and donations were made to assist Springville scout troops, and other child/youth activities.

This year, we are looking for over 180 enthusiastic volunteers to help make this year’s event a success. Roles include preparing, cooking, and serving scones, as well as assisting with the setup and takedown of the booth. Volunteer shifts last two to three hours from Wednesday to Saturday (June 11-14) and two hours for setup/takedown on Monday, June 9, and the following Monday, June 16.

Volunteering is not only a great way to give back to the community, but it’s also an enjoyable experience for individuals, families, or groups—all volunteers will receive a free scone!

Join us in making this year’s Kiwanis Scone Booth a memorable one. Together, we can make a difference in our community while enjoying some of the best scones around! For more information, call John Jacobson at 816-682-9425 or schedule a time to serve.
