Nebo School District wants to showcase our Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK Award winners are nominated by patrons and recognized by the Superintendent Staff and Nebo School Board of Education. The award is administered by the Communications and Community Relations Department.

r

r

Cheryl Davis, Secretary, Maple Mountain High

r

Nominated by: Eric Hyer

r

“Cheryl is the attendance secretary, so she often gets phone calls from upset parents. She handles these calls very well and professionally. She has on her computer a saying: ‘Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you – not because they are nice, but because you are.’ After seeing that, I have also tried to incorporate that into my classroom management. Cheryl is very positive and goes out of her way, not only to do her job, but to help out wherever she is needed. She goes the extra mile to make our school a fun and welcoming place to work.”

r

r

Liz Worthen, Secretary, Salem Hills High

r

Nominated by: Brett White & Lee Gillie

r

“Liz is so positive and happy in all interactions, with every person, adult to toddler, even when it is difficult. She is so amazing when it comes to customer service. Liz will take on any task and complete it perfectly, plus 50 percent!! SHHS gets raving reviews from every staff member, student, and community person about how energetic and friendly Liz is every time they have an interaction. Liz truly embodies Spirit-Heart-Honor-Success!”

r

r

Ryan Rigby, Teacher, Spanish Oaks Elementary

r

Nominated by: Jenna Fagergren Lambert, Megann McKendrick

r

“Ryan is always willing to try new things with a good attitude. He knows that things are constantly changing in education and technology, and he doesn’t complain when we are asked to do something different than usual. He is a great communicator and teammate. For new teachers, he’s always sharing ideas and meeting with our team to make sure everyone is on the same track. Ryan gets to know people well and works to be a friend to those around him. He is always welcoming collaboration and is up for sharing ideas, lessons, and behavior re-enforcers. Ryan is always helping where needed.”

r

r

“Ryan never speaks badly about others and is always so kind. I am new on the fourth-grade team, and he has been so helpful and patient with me. He quietly goes about doing good for everyone, and he deserves to be recognized.”

r

r

Maridan Jensen, Teacher, Westside Elementary

r

Nominated by: Lindsay Leman & Katharine Anderson

r

“Ms. Jensen supports all members of the Westside community. She goes above and beyond to recognize and celebrate staff members. On Dr. Seuss’s birthday, she provided lunch for the whole staff on her own, with thematic treats straight off of Pinterest! Ms. Jensen shares staff successes with the KSL ‘Make Your Week’ column and pays forward all the small acts of kindness that occur at our school. She is a positive voice for her students and colleagues.”

r

r

“Maridan is CONSTANTLY doing things to uplift others. She sends positive emails and notices little things people do and compliments them. She does a lot to make our school a positive place to work. She even single-handedly gave a Dr. Seuss party for us at lunchtime one day during Dr. Seuss week. Maridan is just one of those people who makes you happy!”

r

r

Ingrid Bolz, Teacher, Payson Junior

r

Nominated by: Colleen Wilson

r

“Ingrid is an exceptional choir teacher because of her love of music and teaching skills. Ingrid has passed this love of singing on to her students. After years of practice, the honors class sounds exceptional. Ingrid helps with many musical endeavors on her own time. She worked almost every day this past summer until late in the afternoon. Ingrid is dedicated to her students in helping them be their best.”

r

r

Marilyn Frazier, Special Education Technician, Bridges Program

r

Nominated by: Morgan Phelps

r

“Marilyn always goes above and beyond for the students and staff. She is punctual and reliable and brightens everyone’s day that she comes in contact with. She cares deeply for the students, and the students can feel that. Marilyn is student-focused and puts their needs first. She is the perfect example and a hero in every way!”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

r

This initiative is designed to focus on “raising the bar” on providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally. A key component of this initiative is the development of the PEAK Award. The PEAK (Positive Energy and Kindness) Award is presented monthly to someone in the Nebo School District who “really gets it” when it comes to providing exceptional customer service, which in turn results in positive impacts on everyone including students, parents, co-workers and members of the community.

r

r

Who Gets Nominated?

r

Faculty and staff members are nominated by anyone in the community through the Nebo School District website, www.nebo.edu/PEAK wherein a special Customer Service link is provided. The directions as to how to nominate an employee for the PEAK Awards are clearly spelled out on the site. All nominations must include information on how the individual has provided exceptional customer service, as well as how the employee’s actions impacted the nominator’s overall perception of Nebo School District Schools. The name and contact information of the nominator must be included.

Chris is one of the nicest people I know. Serve Daily is his motto, and also his wonderful publication. The stories are informative, entertaining, and it's so much fun to occasionally see people I actually know featured. Every time I see the paper, my spirits are lifted and I am reminded to Serve Daily. Thanks Chris!

Serve Daily is a great local newspaper full of uplifting stories. We've advertised the Elk Ridge City Celebration in SD the last two years. Chris is a pleasure to work with and his rates are reasonable.
