Salem Junior High School ninth-grader Braxton Beatty has received a $100 scholarship savings account after being named a regional winner of the winter drawing held by Zions Bank’s Pays for A’s program.

Pays for A’s rewards students who put in the effort to make their grades count. Edward Christianson, manager of the Spanish Fork financial center, surprised Beatty with his win during a presentation in the office.

Beatty was entered into the drawing by bringing his report card to Zions Bank and was paid for every A he received. More than 1,400 students entered the winter drawing throughout Utah and Idaho.

“We know that it takes extra time and effort to earn high marks, so we’re proud to recognize the achievements of students like Braxton through the Pays for A’s program,” Christianson said. “Our goal is to help students focus on schoolwork and motivate them to earn good grades.”

Pays for A’s is open to all Utah and Idaho students ages 12 to 18. Students can participate by bringing their most current term-end report card into any Zions Bank location. Students do not need a Zions Bank account to participate. They’ll receive $1 per A deposited into their savings account or 50 cents per A if they opt for cash. For each A on their report cards, students are entered into a drawing to win one of 150 regional scholarship prizes each worth $100 and one grand prize worth $1,000 in each state. Serve Daily is a great local newspaper full of uplifting stories. We've advertised the Elk Ridge City Celebration in SD the last two years. Chris is a pleasure to work with and his rates are reasonable.
